The masterpiece of the cathedral, the head of Saint John the Baptist, brought from Constantinople, has been in Amiens since 1206. It is preserved in a rock-crystal reliquary that was completed in the 19th century with a gilded silver tray adorned with semi-precious stones and an enamel and silver mask.

The departments of the Hauts-de-France Regional Department of Cultural Affairs, the Somme Departmental Archives, the Diocese of Amiens and the Centre des Monuments Nationaux (the Department of Cultural and Public Development, the Heritage Incubator and the monument's teams) have joined forces to provide online access to all the works in the treasure trove using innovative digital resources. The e-tresor project, the fruit of this ambition, will be online from 2023.
