Take a closer look at the rose on the façade of Amiens Cathedral!
Although the original rose has not survived, the cathedral's western façade is still adorned with the one created in the 16th century in the Flamboyant Gothic style . The design of the rose is centred on a small escutcheon decorated with three roosters, the coat of arms of the donor Robert de Cocquerel.
You can admire the rose much more closely from the tour of the towers. The tour offered by the Centre des monuments nationaux takes you from the foot of the south tower to the top of the north tower, crossing the gallery beneath the rose halfway up.
